Board of Directors
The Youth for Christ Board of Directors provides direction, oversight, and vision for the Executive Director and staff of West Sound Youth for Christ. We meet regularly for prayer, ministry updates and planning.
Andrew Betzing
Mr. Betzing has been President of Kitsap Networking Services, Inc. for 8 years. He is an active member of Newlife Kitsap Church, where he and his wife, Kim, lead small groups as well as serve in different areas on Sundays. He served as an Elder for 2 years, a deacon for 2 years, and worship team member for 6 years at Lone Rock Chapel in Seabeck prior to coming to Newlife Kitsap. Andrew served as West Central Little League President, Greens committee member at Kitsap Golf and Country Club, and Central Kitsap High School Alumni board member. He joined the Board of West Sound YFC in June of 2011.
Diane Kelly
Mrs. Kelly is the Administrative Manager at Crista Shores in Silverdale. She is also an entrepreneur, most recently owning and operating a catering business, Honey in the Rock, as well as a coffee shop in Port Orchard. She is a member of Christian Life Center in Port Orchard. Diane has been a member of our board since July 2009.Jay Ellis
Treasurer
Mr. Ellis is currently the western Washington Account Manager for the Philips Respironics Home Healthcare Division. He previously worked as the Director of the Harrison Medical Center Sleep Disorders Center and Practice Administrator at Kitsap Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine in Kitsap County. Mr. Ellis is an active member of Liberty Bay Presbyterian Church in Poulsbo, WA, and has served as a deacon since 2010. Jay received a Masters in Social Work Administration at the University of Kansas, where he trained with CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties and Operation Breakthrough in the urban core of Kansas City Missouri. Mr. Ellis joined our board in June of 2011.
Jim Porter
Board Chairman
Pastor Porter is the Senior Pastor of North Mason Bible Church in Belfair, WA. He and his wife, Carrie, moved to Belfair in April of 2000 and Jim has been a member of our board since 2006. Pastor Jim believes "The heart of a healthy church is its love for God and His Word. The healthy church demonstrates God's love by being relevant to the community and sharing the message of Christ."
Joe Michelsen
Mr. Michelsen is a commercial real estate agent with Windermere Realty of Silverdale, Washington. He and his wife Paula are members of Gateway Fellowship in Poulsbo. Joe has been a member of the Board since 1993 and chairman since 1997.
Ken Erickson
Mr. Erickson is a metalurgist, professional engineer and an adjunct professor at Olympic Community College. He and his wife Sue are members of Crossroads Neighborhood Church and are foster parents. Ken became a member of the board in 2003.
Richard Tizzano
Secretary
Mr. Tizzano is a partner at the Sherrard, McGonagle, Tizzano law firm in Poulsbo WA. His practice focuses on personal law and he frequently represents adopting parents. He and his wife Gloria are foster parents who have adopted through foster care and are members of Gateway Fellowship in Poulsbo. Richard joined our Board in 2007.
